Update 9 April 2011
Ian wishes to thank all the people who have contacted him over the past month or two and provide an update on his progress.
He has just completed a six week course of
chemotherapy
and radiotherapy. The last few weeks have been somewhat
grueling,
however his spirits are remarkably high and his attitude
positive. This
is thanks to the love and support of so many fabulous
people. He truly
appreciates the well wishes via email, cards and phone
calls and
is looking forward to starting his trivia nights again,
as of next
week:
- Pagewood Hotel on Mondays
- Time and Tide Hotel on Tuesdays
- The Bat and Ball on Wednesdays
Update 14 March 2011
Ian is still having chemotherapy and radiation treatment each day and is coping rather well.
He did the GO!! Show reunion concerts in Melbourne and
Adelaide over
the weekend, and had a blast catching up with old
mates.
He's now feeling a little weary and will not work again
until his treatment finishes. Ian is so extremely grateful for all the wonderful messages
he has
received over the last few weeks and thanks everyone for
their
beautiful words x
Update 21 Feb 2011
Ian thanks everyone for the kind messages of support he has received over the last few days, since being diagnosed with cancer. He is truly overwhelmed by the kindness shown by everyone who has been in contact with him.
He acknowledges that there are thousands of other people in Australia who are in similar situations and wishes them his best.
His treatment has started, his spirits are high and he sends his love.
"Turps has been doing our trivia nights now for two years, and his personality and energy keeps the ever growing audience extremely happy. Loads of fun and great questions means an exciting night for everyone."
