Meet one of the great Australian entertainers

Ian "Turps" Turpie was an Australian entertainment legend, whose career spanned over 50 years.

Born in Melbourne in 1943, Ian began his entertainment career at the tender age of 10, when he was accepted at the prestigious Hector Crawford Drama School and gained recognition as a juvenile actor working in radio and theatre.

Sadly, Ian passed away today. He was surrounded by his family and was very peaceful.

He adored his family, friends and co-workers - and his fabulous
fans over the past 50+ years. He was so grateful for the many well
wishes he received from so many.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jan, children Michelle, Sacha and Joshua and his 3 grandchildren.
